Thanks for the article! Actually, we concocted the “Mighty oaks hide in small seeds” phrase as a way to hint at the mural’s meaning: Just as the full mechanics of the mature oak are hidden inside the seed, dreams & full potential are hidden inside of people, even though they don’t often appear fully formed from the outside. In the same way, the new building is also grafting into the root of the vanished Apollo Theater, returning to us part of the resident heritage that was lost to the street.
